still life with circles

not sure anyone looks at this site anymore since it has literally been years since i have written anything in it. as many of you know, my daughter lucia paz was stillborn at 38 weeks on december 22, 2008. i have started writing a blog called stilllife with circles. it is about my journey through the grief process. this is probably an incredibly depressing blog, much different than my insane anderson cooper rants and bad candy blogging. but hopefully, it is deeper. you can find that blog at still life with circles.
much love,
ang

that funky monkey

kellyann taught me the way of the homemade toy, and thus, during bea's super illness, i made my first wellness sock monkey. it looks as though it was constructed by a blind and drunken eight year old, but alas, that is not far from the truth. introducing the ubermonkey, bea's new best friend.

Aunt Bea

people always comment on beatrice's name. "such an old-fashioned name. is it a family name?" and well, yes, it is, though to be fair, we didn't name beatrice grace after my grandmother mary lou's aunt bea. she talked about her often. she was a good baker. this is all i really knew about her, but let's just say, the seed might have been planted by hearing her speak of aunt bea. and well, my grandmother also had two best friends named audrey (the niece's name). my grandmother told a mean story.

after my grandfather's recent death, i was looking through old family photos. and what do i come across but a picture of my father and aunt bea. the back actually says "tommie and aunt bee. july 13, 1952" meaning my dad was two. he looks just like my nephews and she looks feisty as all hell. i LOVE her earrings.
